Silence reigns behind us, where the sand stretches as far as the eye can see. Behind, the ocean reaches the horizon where the blue of the water merges with the color of the sky, warmed by a golden sun. Suddenly life comes alive: a fresh breeze caresses the face, while the soft sound of the waves can be heard from afar. Tonic Water expresses master perfumer Alberto Morillas’ deep love for the sea through a hyper-realistic yet oneiric composition.
The aquatic vivacity of calone, which evokes the subtle sensation of water on the skin, is enhanced here by cardamom and Sichuan pepper. Its marine facet is enlivened by cachalox and cetalox, which bring accents of ambergris, subtly mineral. The ocean then expresses its power and depth through the accord of papyrus wood and incense, nuanced with a sensual touch of vanilla.
I have always loved the ocean and the energizing freshness it brings. With this fragrance, I wanted to translate the emotions that flow from it through a powerful olfactory composition. For me, Tonic Water has been a styling exercise around the theme of the sea, its power and the multiple facets released by its waves. At the same time, I wanted to provide the skin with the sea’s persistent vivacity, as in the experience of an endless swim.
